Abstract
Lead (Pb) is a heavy metal in the environment contained in the earth's crust and is spread in small amounts through natural processes. The painting industry uses lead compounds with chrome (PbCrO4). Lead levels in the blood can cause a decrease in hemoglobin levels. The purpose of the literature thesis is to analyze the correlation of the blood lead levels to hemoglobin levels in staining employees. Reference data sources in the form of the latest research journals. Data analysis was tested descriptive. Lead levels of hemoglobin levels in staining employees cause haemopoietic disorders resulting in decreased hemoglobin synthesis. Lead contained in the blood inhibits most of the enzymes that play a role in the formation of hemoglobin, heme. Literature studies on the correlation of the blood lead levels to hemoglobin levels in staining workers show that there is a relationship of blood lead levels to hemoglobin levels. The direction of the relationship of blood lead levels to hemoglobin levels is negative. The direction of the negative relationship indicates the higher the lead level in a person's blood, the lower the hemoglobin level in the staining employee.
