Abstract

Library space is an academic facility and infrastructure that functions as a place for students and lecturers to obtain information from various media and librarians who manage libraries. There is a minimum of one library space per college campus, as long as it meets the standards of the academic community who use it. Air is one of the most important environmental components in sustaining life. Even so, the air can also be polluted and contaminated. Mushrooms are microorganisms that can pollute the air in the room. The presence of fungal contamination in the air can cause several health problems and disrupt human activities. The emergence of these health problems can cause discomfort, moreover the library is a place that is often visited by many people who also spend a long time in the room. Scientific Writing based on this literature study aims to determine the types of airborne contaminant fungi that exist in the library room. This type of research is a literature study. This study uses secondary data collection taken from scientific journals, theses, and scientific papers. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis method. Of the 6 journals used as a reference. Found a fungus that contaminates the air in the library is dominated by Aspergillus sp. Even so, also found other fungi such as Cladosporium sp. and Penicillium sp. contaminate the air in the library room. The fungus is the fungus most commonly found in moist buildings. The appearance of fungi that contaminate the air can cause several health problems such as mucous membrane irritation, eye irritation, nasal irritation, throat irritation, lung and respiratory disorders, and several other diseases.
