Abstract

Liver damage caused by drugs is a serious health problem. The use of drugs to induce liver damage in patients with liver disease can increase the risk of liver damage. According to the Directorate General of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Development (2007), Indonesia is a country with a high endemic level regarding liver disease. This study was conducted to determine the use of drugs that can induce liver damage in hospitalized patients with liver disease in RSUI Kustati Surakarta. Data collection was conducted retrospectively in the 2018-2019 period from the patient's medical record. A total of 103 research subjects are known to have the most age impaired liver function in the age range 46-55 years as many as 39 patients (37.9%), the sexes that have the most impaired liver function are males, 65 patients (63, 1%). The most common type of liver disorder is hepatitis, which is 66 patients (64%). The most common concomitant disease was cholecystitis in 11 patients (10.7%). Liver-inducing drugs that are still used are ranitidine as many as 46 patients (27.5%), ceftriaxone 35 patients (21%), omeprazole 18 patients (10.8%), and paracetamol 11 patients (6.6%). This shows that there are still many uses of drugs to induce liver damage that are used by patients with impaired liver function.
