Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) is currently a serious world problem with the number of cases which are always increasing every day. People with lung disease have a higher risk of being exposed to Covid-19. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge and characteristics of pulmonary specialist polyclinic patients at Brayat Minulya Hospital, Surakarta, which are related to the level of knowledge about Covid-19. The research design was a cross sectional study. The sample was 146 patients at the Polyclinic specialist lung at Brayat Minulya Hospital with a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Characteristics of pulmonary specialist polyclinic patients at Brayat Minulya Hospital were mostly elderly, 65.1%, female sex was greater than male by 51.4%, and patients with work status were 63.7%. The educational level of patients was mostly middle to lower, at 58.2%. 84.9% of patients have no family history of being exposed to Covid-19 and have received 94.5% information about Covid-19. The results showed that 59.6% had good knowledge. Based on the results of the chi square statistical test, it was found that there was a relationship between age (p <0.0001), education level (p <0.0001), employment status (p <0.0001), and information acquisition (p <0.0001). with a level of knowledge about Covid-19 and no significant sex relationship (p = 0.108) and experience of having a family history of exposure to Covid-19 (p = 0.519) with knowledge of Covid-19
