Abstract

Worm infection is one of the diseases that is still a health problem for children in developing countries. This infection is caused by worms that are transmitted through soil that has been contaminated by eggs or larvae from Soil Transmitted Helminths worms. Worm infections often occur in children because of their activities that are much related to the soil. The age group that is susceptible to worm infection is at the age of 3-8 years. The purpose of this study was to identify the presence of Soil Transmitted Helminths eggs in children aged 3-8 years. This study used a descriptive observational design with a formalin eter deposition m ethod approach. The samples analyzed were feces from 10 samples of children aged 3-8 years in Cemani village, with quota sampling and observed under a microscope. The results of research that have been carried out on stool samples found 1 positive sample of Soil Transmitted Helminths eggs, that is Hook worms eggs so it can be concluded that there were Hook worm eggs in 1 sample of 10 samples.
