Abstract
Sahur is the consumption of food and beverages that are done before imsak time during the fasting month. In addition to almost the same as breakfast, sahur is also as important as breakfast. Fasting students still need enough energy, so sahur is an important meal time to meet the needs of nutrients. Sahur accounts for 40% or about 800 calories of nutritional needs a day. Unqualified suhoor can cause loss of energy and nutrients necessary for erythrocyte synthesis. This can result in a decrease in the value of the erythrocyte index. This type of research is descriptive research that aims to know the picture of erythrocyte index and the quality of sahur in students. Sampling was conducted with Total sampling technique and sampled as many as 16 students. The examination tool used in this study was the Mindray BC-2800 Hematology analyzer with volumetric impedance method. The results of this study showed as many as 16 students have a quality sahur that is not quality. As for the results of the examination of erythrocyte index value obtained as many as 8 respondents (50.00%) normocromic erythrocyte index normochromic, 3 respondents (18.75%) has a hypochromic normocyte erythrocyte index value, and 5 respondents (31.25%) has a hypochromic microcytic erythrocyte index value.
