Abstract

SGPT (Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase) was an enzyme found in liver cells. The liver was an important organ of the body to detoxify chemicals that are not useful for the body. Smoking cause lipid peroxidation which cause damage to normal cell membranes of lhe liver. If the liver cells are demaged, the SGPT enzyme will be released from the liver cells into the blood, resulting in an increase in SGPT levels. So this study aims to determine the levels of Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase (SGPT) in smoker in the village of Sanjan Rw 02 Wonogiri Regency. This study was a descriptive study with 30 blood samples on smokers in Sanjan Village Rw 02 Wonogiri Regency who had signed the informed consent. The sampling technique used was a purposive sampling technique. This examination is measured using a photometer in the Citra Medika laboratory. In this study, the result of Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase (SGPT) levels that are more than normal are 7 respondents (23,3 %) and within normal limits as many as 23 respondents (76,6 %). In the frequency of the number of cigarettes smoked 4-10 sticks/day there are 4 respondents (13,3 %) more than normal. On smoking duration > 6 months there are 5 respondents (16,7 %) more than normal. At the age of 20-50 years there are 4 respondents (13,3 %) more than normal. The conclusion of this study is that based on 30 sampels of Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase (SGPT) levels in Sanjan Wonogiri Village, the average value was 24 u/l.
