Abstract

Dental work procedures are classified as a high risk of transmission and contamination of the SARS-Cov-2 virus, therefore it is necessary to prevent and control infection properly in carrying out work procedures. The SARS-Cov-2 virus has been shown to have a very high transmission rate by spreading mostly through respiratory droplets and through direct contact with surfaces contaminated with the virus. Various evidence has shown that one of the human to human transmission chains of the SARS-Cov virus -2 occurs in health care facilities, especially in dental treatment procedures. Dentists are accustomed to using analgesia for the treatment of their patients, but using longer doses and for periods of more than two weeks presents special challenges. Special precautions are needed when using analgesia in the current situation. The aim of this study is to determine the use of analgesic drugs in dental clinics during the COVID-19 pandemi at the Kartika 01 clinic in Surakarta in the period 2020. This research is a non-experimental descriptive study. Data collection was carried out retrospectively. Sampling technique using saturated sampling obtained data as many as 121 samples that meet the criteria. The results of the study of Dental Polyclinic at Pratama Kartika 01 Surakarta, it can be concluded that the most dental clinic patient characteristics are women (52.8%), the most age group is 36-45 years (25.6 %), most comorbidities were hypertension (72.7%), most pain medication was mefenamic acid (49.16%) and Paracetamol (26,2%).
