Abstract

The daily environment of students who are close to exposure to cigarette smoke allows nicotine to enter the body. Passive smokers are at risk of exposure to nicotine from cigarette smoke exhaled by active smokers who are around them. The purpose of this study is to find out how nicotine is described in passive smoking students at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Nasional. This study used a descriptive research design that was sourced from primary data obtained from the results of urine examination using a test strip and the results of a questionnaire for 10 female students who smoked passively with a minimum of ten years of exposure. The results showed that 10 negative samples contained nicotine with a cut off level of 200ng/ml. Negative results are indicated by the formation of red lines in column C (Control) and column T (Test). Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that 100% (10 out of 10) urine samples of passive smoking students at the Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Nasional were negative for nicotine with a cut off level of 200ng/ml.
